Colloquium for Office Bearers
The Colloquium is a gathering of the Presbytery's office bearers and students for the ministry, for two days of lectures, discussion, and sermons. One of the goals is to hand on the heritage of the Free Church of Scotland to the next generation of office bearers. Another is to discuss practical problems we face in the work of the ministry. A third is to give us time on a regular basis to visit with one another and enjoy fellowship in prayer. A fourth is to provide an opportunity for the students to discuss with the Presbytery the problems they encounter in preparation for the ministry.
The schedule is for an arrival on Wednesday evening, two morning sessions each day on Thursday and Friday, another each evening, and departure on Saturday morning. The Presbytery usually meets on the Thursday afternoon of the Colloquium, and on Friday afternoon there is an outing.
The next Colloquium is scheduled for November 4 and 5, 2010, at St. Louis, Missouri. Subsequent to that, a Colloquium is scheduled for March 24 and 25, 2011, at Greenville, South Carolina.
